Restorative justice in Northern Ireland

This presentation will outline arrangements for restorative justice within the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland. It will include evidence of outcomes and some of the problems and obstacles that have been encountered.
Tim Chapman has a law degree (LLB) and a Masters in Applied Social Studies. He worked in the Probation Service in Northern Ireland for 25 years. He has worked as a criminal justice consultant for 10 years specialising in restorative justice and effective practice in reducing offending. He has published widely in these fields. He now lectures full-time in the restorative practices Masters programme at the University of Ulster.
